Tony Boothroyd

Tony Boothroyd entered real estate in 1967 as a Property Manager for K L Dowling & Co, a well known St . Kilda Road agency.  He later joined the City agency of Richard Ellis, Sallmann & Seward (now known as CBRE) and became the company's Leasing Manager.  He was involved in site consolidation for the "Collins Place" project and was instrumental in the development and leasing of properties such as "Eagle House" and "BHP House".

Tony has operated his own real estate agency since 1972 with offices in St. Kilda Road, North Caulfield and East Bentleigh.  He also conducted a highly successful agency in Perth during the boom period following Australia's victory in the America's Cup.

He has been involved in the development of projects such as 424-426 and 612-616 St. Kilda Road,  the sale of office buildings such as 10 Queens Road, plus the consolidation and eventual sale of large shopping centre portfolios.  As an auctioneer, he has sold a number of prime residential and commercial properties.

In recognition of his vast knowledge of property management issues, Tony was appointed an adviser to the Government working party which formulated the original Residential Tenancies Act.  Having been involved with body corporate management for over twenty years, he was also a member of an industry group advising the Government on the Owners Corporation Act.

Tony was made a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Australia in 1980, a Fellow of the Society of Land Economists in 1987 and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute in 1994. In further recognition of his property knowledge, he became a Certified Property Practitioner of the API in 2009. In 2010 he became a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  He has been a Full Member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (formerly the Real Estate & Stock Institute) since 1972, and is currently a member of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation.

Tony recently concluded an appointment as Managing Director of the publically listed Rabinov Property Trust (ASX:RBV) during which time he was instrumental in merging RBV with the listed Growthpoint Property Trust.
